The Rumors:

Social Media goes nuts as users have reported that GPT-4.5 is currently the model in use. Leaked images show the GPT-4.5 model with new multimodal capabilities and pricing details.

Multiple reports claim ChatGPT is performing better and much faster than it used to be.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has denied these reports in a one word tweet “Nah”.

Why It’s Relevant:

While GPT 5 is still in the works, ChatGPT’s boosted performance could mean an upgrade to GPT-4.5 is coming sooner than we thought.

🎥Meet Tesla’s Optimus Gen 2: A Humanoid Ro(bot)

The Details:

Tesla announced Optimus Gen 2 in a demo video here. An AI powered humanoid robot with advanced AI hardware. This version is a vast improvement over last year’s Optimus Gen 1 which disappointed everyone.

Optimus Gen 2 details:

10 Kg lighter than its predecessor
30% Faster walk than its predecessor
Improved balance and full body control
Human foot geometry
Tactile sensing on all fingers & can handle delicate objects like eggs
Integrated electronics
Can Dance 🕺🕺(as seen in the gif above)

Why It’s Important:

AI Software has been so impressive in the past year with non-stop development and innovation - It’s about time AI hardware gets to shine in the spotlight. Optimus Gen 2 is miles better than its original version, and much closer to the robots we’re used to seeing in sci-fi movies.

🤑OpenAI’s $10M Superalignment (AGI) Grant

What Happened:

OpenAI announced the ambitious $10M Superalignment Fast Grants program. This will further push the research and development of safe superhuman AI systems, or AGI, which is an artificial intelligence that will transcend human intelligence.

The grants will be open to academic labs, individual researchers, nonprofits, and fellowships.

In this ambitious initiative, OpenAI proposes a study on weak-to-strong generalization experiments, whether smaller & less capable models can be used to supervise larger models.

Why Should I Care?

Aligning on the safe development of potential superhuman AI systems is crucial in a seemingly never-ending innovative AI space. It needs to be studied carefully and we will closely follow any breakthroughs done by the superalignment team.

⚡Intel announces new AI chip to compete with Nvidia

The Story:

Intel unveils new AI chip: Gaudi3. Gaudi3 is intended to run generative AI software such as ChatGPT, which is currently powered by Nvidia. Gaudi3 will launch next year.

Also, Intel announced new Core Ultra chips (for PC+Laptops), and new 5th generation Xeon server chips. These chips contain NPU, a specialized AI part, designed to run AI programs much faster.

Why It’s Relevant:

Intel’s announcement indicates they are hoping to attract AI companies and going all in to compete with Nvidia.

The Story:

Accenture & Google Cloud Launch Joint Generative AI Center of Excellence. This initiative will enable businesses to use generative AI for scaling their projects and portfolios.

Specialized access to Accenture data and AI architects and engineers
Google’s Gemini AI model and a wide selection of LLMs
New rapid prototyping services on Google Cloud
Access to Google Cloud’s differentiated, AI-optimized infrastructure
Industry-tested AI managed services and best practices

Why It’s Important:

The Center of Excellence will enable businesses to find new opportunities to grow and improve their performances and operations using generative AI. This will further push the wide adoption of generative AI in businesses.
